This spring, we’re delighted to offer an intimate, hands-on weaving workshop that invites you to slow down, connect, and create something beautiful. Held at Soft Fire Ceramics—our restored fieldstone church studio located just five minutes from the inn—this workshop offers a quiet and inspiring setting to learn the timeless craft of basket weaving.

Led by artisan Christine Kelly, you’ll learn how to weave the classic Old Reed Caddy Basket with its elegant loop handle. Through detailed, step-by-step instruction, Christine will guide you through:

• Forming the base

• Twining and weaving the sides

• Creating the loop handle

• Lashing the rim to finish

This is a deeply satisfying and meditative process. Many guests find themselves entering a state of calm and flow as they work, fully immersed in the rhythm of weaving. You'll leave not only with a beautiful handmade basket, but also with the joy of having created it yourself.

• All tools and materials for one natural reed caddy basket

• Instruction on adding colour or stain to your finished basket (optional)

• 3-hour workshop in a cozy, inspiring setting
